Indian Springs Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is coming and that means Easter Egg hunts for the children and the Adult 2 Sunday School from Aspen Park is ministering to the kids at Indian Springs with a hunt of their own.

The bible school class of Adult 2 is hosting in conjunction with the Indian Springs Apartment Complex an Easter Egg hunt for the children of Indian Springs. With over 700 residents we are sure there will be a crowd of people searching for those eggs.

Join Aspen Park at Indian Springs Apartment Complex for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26.  The event starts at 11:00 for the kids, but come at 11:00 to help set up and welcome guests.

Donations of candy to fill the eggs would be greatly appreciated.

Indian Springs Apartment Complex is located at Aspen (145th E Ave.) and 131st St.

50 Years for APBC - A Day to Remember

 Sunday May 3 • 10:30 a.m.

Sunday May 3 • 10:30 a.m.

Aspen Park Baptist Church will celebrate its 50th Anniversary Sunday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. with a service lead by First Baptist Broken Arrow Pastor Nick Garland and followed by a catered lunch on the church grounds.

The church began as a mission of First Baptist in 1963 as Clayton Baptist Church. Two years later, on May 2, 1965, the mission became a self-supporting congregation.

It was a monetary gift from the Clayton family that enabled First Baptist to purchase the property and structure from Old Paths Pentecostal Church on South Aspen. The mission’s first service was held on June 7, 1963.

In its 50-year history, the church has seen a number of changes including a name change from Clayton Baptist Church to Aspen Park Baptist Church in 1992. Six pastors and three interim pastors have served Clayton/Aspen over the past 50 years.

Fifty Years of Pastors

1965-1967 – Rev. Everett Johnson (Original mission pastor from 1963-1965)

Collecting Coats for Kids

The weather outside isn't frightful just yet, but let's get ahead of Old Man Winter and shelter our children from the elements before it gets nasty.

The weather outside isn't frightful just yet, but let's get ahead of Old Man Winter and shelter our children from the elements before it gets nasty.

It came to Aspen Park's attention that Arms Around BA has found themselves short of coats for children this year. So for the month of December Aspen Park Baptist Church is collecting coats for children sizes 6-16.

As soon as the coats arrive, someone takes them to Arms Around BA and they seem to be gone as soon as we bring them in.

So, the need is great.

There are bins placed throughout the building where you may place your coats.

Additional Needs

Coats are not the only provisions needed by AABA.

Other needs include:

  1. Egg Cartons
  2. Laundry Detergent
  3. Deodorant
  4. Shampoo
  5. Cooking Oil
  6. Prayer: as food baskets are delivered for Christmas, pray the love of Christ will be received along with the physical gift.

Many have already given - how about you?

Lord's Supper to be Observed January 4

We invite you to start 2015 off by joining Aspen Park Baptist Church in observing the Lord's Supper.

Sunday, January 4, at the 10:30 a.m. worship service all those who have accepted Jesus gift of redemption (forever forgiven of sin) are invited to participate.

If you have made a resolution for 2015 to draw closer to God, He promises that He will draw near to you and is delighted to spend time with you. It's a known fact that anyone who is looking to establish a new habit has greater success when they have a small group with a similar commitment.

At APBC we have several Sunday morning Bible studies where we focus on the challenges we face in our daily lives. We have a diverse group of people who will welcome you to "do life" with them.

Sunday Bible studies begin at 9:00 a.m. Just come in any door and we'll be happy to help you find a group of people who are believing what God's promised, trusting Him to guide and direct their lives, and receive encouragement every Sunday through the friends and prayers of their APBC family.
