Aspen Park Baptist Church photos from the 50th Anniversary CelebrationRead More
Aspen Park Baptist Church will celebrate its 50th Anniversary Sunday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. with a service lead by First Baptist Broken Arrow Pastor Nick Garland and followed by a catered lunch on the church grounds.
The church began as a mission of First Baptist in 1963 as Clayton Baptist Church. Two years later, on May 2, 1965, the mission became a self-supporting congregation.
It was a monetary gift from the Clayton family that enabled First Baptist to purchase the property and structure from Old Paths Pentecostal Church on South Aspen. The mission’s first service was held on June 7, 1963.
In its 50-year history, the church has seen a number of changes including a name change from Clayton Baptist Church to Aspen Park Baptist Church in 1992. Six pastors and three interim pastors have served Clayton/Aspen over the past 50 years.
Fifty Years of Pastors
1965-1967 – Rev. Everett Johnson (Original mission pastor from 1963-1965)
1967-1970 – Rev. A.C. Booth
1970-1973 – Rev. Don Franklin
1973-1974 – Rev. Danny McDonald (interim)
1974-1984 – Rev. Eugene Herndon
1984-1989 – Rev. John Pickup
1989-1990 – Rev. Keith Millis (interim)
1990 - Rev. Mark Anderson (interim)
1990-Present – Rev. David Crump
All former and current staff and congregation are invited to attend the celebration. Lunch will be under a tent following the service featuring a message from Rev. Garland, special music by the church’s praise team and choir and a review of the church history.
Aspen Park Baptist Church is located at 4400 S. Aspen in Broken Arrow.

In a world obsessed with sensationalism, not all hidden things are poisonous and dark. Some secrets are forgiven, some are covered, and some are kept between you and God. Join us for a Beth Moore Living Proof Live experience to explore the power and the positives of secrets. Find out what happens when we let God teach us "wisdom in the secret heart" (Ps. 51:6, ESV).
Ladies, the Women's Ministry invites you to participate in this six week Bible study. While short in the number of weeks, this study is not short on truth from God's word. This study will benefit ladies of all ages and stages of life. You are welcome to invite a friend to join us.
Since this study is short and will involve talking about some of the secrets we hold in our hearts, we ask that you commit to attend all six sessions if possible.
The cost of the member book is $10. Books will be available at the first three sessions. We never want the cost of a book to prevent you from joining a Bible study. If you need financial assistance for the book, please talk to Debbie Bell. All scholarships are confidential.
This study will be held on Sunday evenings from 5:00 - 6:30 beginning July 13 and ending August 17 in the Adult 3 Sunday School room. Your registration is requested for planning purposes.
Childcare can be arranged in advance and is by reservation only. Please contact Debbie Bell if childcare is needed.
