God's Promise for the Tempted

To wrap up his sermon series Standing on the Promises, Bro. David considers one of God's unconditional promises to do with temptation from 1 Corinthians 10:12-14. First we learn that we're all in the same boat when it comes to temptation.  Why do we sin so much? We think we can get away with it!  But you'll never face a temptation that hasn't been faced before. Your situation my seem unique, but you're no different!

But God is faithful. God knows just how much we can bear and will never allow temptation beyond that point.  That's His promise to us. God doesn't allow temptation to come our way in order for us to fail; He wants it to strengthen our faith, not destroy it. You can handle more than you might think, and God knows exactly the right amount.

It means that your temptation is conquerable, that with every temptation sent your way God has also provided a way out.  You may not see the escape because you aren't looking for it, but you know you can count on it because God has promised it!
